Terms of Service
Last updated: August 25, 2026
These Terms cover your use of Editors Academy (the "Service"), operated by Editors Academy ("we", "us", "our"). We have tried to write them in plain English rather than legalese. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.
01Your Account
You need an account to use the Service. Please give accurate information when you sign up and keep it current — we use your email address to deliver your access and to contact you about your order.
You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for anything that happens under your account. Accounts are for one person. Please do not share your login or your access with anyone else.
02Free Trial
Every new account gets a 24-hour free trial with full access to the Service — the whole library and the AI coach, exactly as a paying customer sees it. No card is required to start.
The trial exists so you can decide whether the Service is right for you before paying anything. When it ends, you can buy lifetime access to continue, or simply stop.
03Payment and Lifetime Access
Lifetime access is a single one-time payment. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
International payments are made by card through Polar, which acts as the merchant of record for the sale. Customers in Bangladesh can pay via bKash. Card payments unlock access automatically once the payment is confirmed; bKash payments are unlocked once we have verified the transaction. We may decline an order if a payment cannot be verified.
Access is tied to your account and is not transferable between people.
04What "Lifetime" Means
Lifetime means for as long as the Service exists — not the lifetime of any particular content, and not your own lifetime. If we ever have to shut the Service down, we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can.
It does not mean the library will always contain exactly what it contains today. The Service is built around content hosted on third-party platforms such as YouTube, and around third-party AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini. We do not own or control any of them. Videos can be removed, made private, or changed by the people who published them, and third-party services can change their terms, their pricing, or their availability at any time.
What you are buying is our ongoing curation: the research, selection, structure and learning paths we build around that content, and continued access to the Service as we maintain it. We update and re-curate the library over time as part of that work, which means the catalogue will change — items will be added, replaced, and sometimes removed.
05Refunds
We do not offer refunds. The 24-hour free trial gives you complete access to everything the Service offers before you pay, so you can decide with full information rather than on a description. Please use the trial to make sure the Service is right for you.
If something has genuinely gone wrong — you were charged twice, you never received access, or the Service is not working for you — email us at support@editorsacademy.com and we will put it right.
06The AI Coach
The Service can connect to your own AI assistant account (such as Claude) so it can act as a learning coach: recommending videos, building courses for you, and keeping notes on your progress in a daily journal.
When you use the coach, the relevant parts of your learning data — your courses, your progress, and your journal entries — are sent to that AI provider so it can respond with context. That processing happens under your own account with that provider and under their terms and privacy policy, not ours. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
AI assistants can be wrong. Treat coaching suggestions, learning plans and generated summaries as helpful guidance rather than professional advice, and use your own judgement.
07Your Content
Anything you write in the Service — journal entries, notes, the courses and playlists you build — belongs to you. We do not claim ownership of it.
We store it so we can show it back to you, and we send it to your connected AI provider when you ask the coach for help. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models.
08Our Content
The Service itself — its design, its features, and the curation, organisation and learning paths we build — is the property of Editors Academy.
The videos in the library are published by third parties on platforms such as YouTube, and remain the property of whoever made them. We organise and link to that content; we do not own it or claim to.
Please do not copy, resell, scrape or redistribute the Service or our curation.
09Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service:
- In any way that breaks an applicable law or regulation.
- To exploit or harm minors in any way.
- To share, resell or give away your account access to anyone else.
- To scrape, bulk-download or automatically extract the library or our curation.
- To attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or another user’s account.
10Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms — for example by sharing your access, scraping the library, or using the Service unlawfully.
If we close your lifetime account for a reason that is not your fault and not a breach of these Terms, we will refund what you paid.
You can stop using the Service at any time. If you would like your account and data deleted, email us and we will take care of it.
11Availability and Liability
We work to keep the Service running and useful, but we provide it as it is. We cannot guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors — and much of what it depends on (YouTube, AI providers, payment processors) is outside our control.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, lost time, or lost data. Nothing here is intended to exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.
12Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service develops. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects what you have paid for, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you directly.
