01What We Collect

We try to collect as little as we can. In practice that is:

• Account details. Your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. You can add a display name and avatar yourself.
• Payment details. When you buy lifetime access, our payment providers collect what they need to take the payment. We receive a record of the order — your email, the amount, the country, and a receipt number — but we never see or store your card number.
• What you create in the app. The courses and playlists you build, which lessons you have completed, your learning goal, and your journal entries.
• Usage data. Standard technical information such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you visit, which we use to understand how the Service is used and to keep it working.

02Your Journal, Explained

The Service keeps a learning journal: one entry per day, in your own words, about what you studied, what clicked, and what you found difficult. You can write entries yourself on the journal page, and the AI coach can write them on your behalf after a session.

We treat the journal as the most personal thing in the product, because it is. It is yours. We store it so we can show it back to you and so your coach has real context about how you have been doing, rather than starting from nothing every time.

Two things we want to be explicit about. Your journal is sent to your connected AI provider when you use the coach — that is how it can refer to what you wrote last week. And we do not read your journal for any other purpose: we do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models. You can delete any entry at any time, from the app or by asking your coach to.

03The AI Coach and Your Data

The Service can connect to your own AI assistant account — Claude, and similar assistants such as ChatGPT or Gemini — so it can act as a learning coach.

When you connect an assistant and use it, we send that provider the parts of your learning data it needs to be useful: your courses and playlists, your progress, your learning goal, and your journal entries. This only happens when you have connected an account and are actually using the coach.

That data is then handled by that provider under your own account with them, subject to their terms and privacy policy rather than ours. If you would like to stop it, disconnect the assistant — the connection is yours to revoke at any time.

We also keep a log of which coach actions were taken and when, so we can debug problems and protect against abuse.

04How We Use Your Information

We use what we collect to:

• Create and run your account, and give you the access you paid for.
• Show you your courses, progress and journal, and keep them in sync.
• Let the AI coach help you, when you have connected one.
• Email you about your account, your order, or something important about the Service.
• Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it, and diagnose problems.
• Pay affiliate commission where a purchase came through a referral.

05Who We Share It With

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do share it with the companies that make the Service work:

• Supabase — our database and login system. This is where your account, courses and journal are stored.
• Google — sign-in with Google, and Google Analytics for usage statistics.
• Polar (with Stripe underneath) — card payments, as merchant of record. bKash — payments in Bangladesh.
• Anthropic, OpenAI or Google — whichever AI assistant you choose to connect, as described above.
• PostHog — product analytics, so we can see which features are actually used.
• HubSpot — the support chat, if you message us through it.

06Legal Requests

We may disclose information if we are legally required to, or where we genuinely believe it is necessary to investigate a violation of our Terms, prevent fraud, or protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

07Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Some are essential — they keep you logged in. Others record that you arrived through an affiliate link, so the right person is credited if you buy. Our analytics providers also set cookies to recognise returning visitors.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though doing so will sign you out and may stop parts of the Service working.

08Where Your Data Is Held

The Service is operated online and the companies listed above are based in various countries, mostly including the United States. Using the Service means your information may be stored and processed outside the country you live in.

09Keeping It Safe

We use access controls, encryption in transit, and database-level rules so that your data is only reachable by your account. Payment card details never reach our servers at all.

No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will tell you.

10Your Choices

You are in control of your data. At any time you can:

• View and edit your profile, courses and journal in the app.
• Delete individual journal entries, courses or playlists.
• Disconnect your AI assistant, which stops any further data being sent to it.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account entirely — just email support@editorsacademy.com.

11Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12Changes to This Policy

We will update this policy as the Service changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
